By José Izquierdo, Grupo Decoro (Decorum Group)

Güines, March 4, 2003 (www.cubanet.org) - The banned Center for Liberty and Democracy has made this Monday a call to civil disobedience in Güines, Havana Province, as a preamble of what, according to its organizers, will be a great democratic march, in this Municipality, convoked for next March 8, International Women’s Day.

Marta Ida Orta Pazos told Decorum that representatives of dissident organizations within the area will attend this activity, as well as distinguished opposition personalities in the country’s capital, Pinar del Río and Matanzas.

It will be an unforgettable event. We will take Güines streets to demand the Island’s democratization, the unconditional freedom for all prisoners of conscience and the immediate stop of all repressive activities carried out by State Security against peaceful opponents,” affirmed Orta Pazos, only woman in Güines heading an organization opposing the regime.
