Rafael Becil Saca
A native of Güines, born November 28, 1923, distinguished attorney, educator, journalist, practicing Catholic and young peoples advisor. Becil was an indisputable leader in Güines during the Republican Era where he participated in social and cultural welfare activities, under the sponsorship of the parish church, besides successfully practicing his profession as an attorney in the law firm of Dr. Mario Chardiet Sagarduy one of the more prestigious in the Villa. In exile since 1966 he joined Municipio de Güines en el Exilio (Municipality of Güines in Exile) and in 1967 was the Editor of its official voice Ecos del Mayabeque (Echoes of the Mayabeque), both of them still in existence at the time of writing this biographic note. In Miami, he became a teacher, trying to intellectually and morally mold in a solid fashion, the Cuban youth of the Diaspora, emphasizing their Cuban roots.
