Born in Güines, on December 5, 1843. He graduated as Doctor of Medicine from Paris University in 1868. Reconfirmed his degree in Spain in 1869. He graduated as Doctor of Science at Havana University in 1881 and as Doctor of Pharmacy in 1889. Honorary Member of Havana Academy of Medical, Physical and Natural Sciences. The Municipal Hospital of the Villa of Güines was named Castellanos Arango Hospital in his honor. He died in 1916.
