Born in Güines in 1904. An extraordinarily talented painter, forerunner of contemporary Cuban painting, dying young, 30 years of age in 1934, when his artistic creativity started to manifest itself.
He left some literary work consisting of 17 untitled short stories, written in 1930, published posthumously in 1960.
