Born in Güines on August 30, 1901. Coming from a family of educators. His father Don Rafael García Cárdenas, as well as his uncles, Ramón and Manuel, were School Principals in the Villa and his grandfather, Don Nicolás García Pérez, was for many years, Principal of Arango y Parreño School and considered as the peerless teacher.

A man of vast culture, journalist, literary man, poet, humorous writer, a master in the difficult art of literary satire.

Editor of magazines from Güines such as Cúspide (Apex), Síntesis (Synthesis), Gorgojito (Little Weevil) and others. The author of an unpublished book El huerto de Simplicio (Simplicio’s Orchard) gathered around 1938 containing colorful vignettes of Güines’ life since its Colonial Era, being published since 1994, by La Villa magazine, edited by exiled Güineros.

He actively participated in the Villa’s cultural, philanthropic and social life. Prominent member of Güines Rotary Club, where he occupied high offices. He belonged to Güines Red Cross, to the Volunteer Firemen Corps and other social welfare institutions from Güines. He died in his native Villa on November 23, 1963.
