Born in Güines in 1834. Chief of the Güines jurisdiction of Cuba’s Revolutionary Junta, being deported to Fernando Poo because he was caught when trying to raise in arms to help the insurrection of Yara, escaping to France and later to the United States, where he continued helping the cause of independence.

He was Mayor of Güines during the Republic, being demoted later on by President Estrada Palma. He died in 1910.
